Self-catering cottages, flats and bed-sitters
Dotted around the grounds are 52 units with either one or two bedrooms, kitchen, living room and bathroom; flats with a bathroom, kitchenette, living room and bedroom and also en-suite bedsitters with their own kitchenette.

Assisted Living
There are 26 rooms in the main building, most with private en-suite bathrooms and others with private lounge and sun room (our de-luxe rooms). The ground floor rooms open out to the garden and many residents enjoy feeding the birds, growing plants in pretty pots and sitting outside in good weather.
Assisted living rooms include all meals, cleaning and laundry
All our accommodation is available at affordable monthly rentals.
Frail Care and Medical Care
The frail care center, within the main building, can accommodate 33 residents and has its own kitchen, lounge, dining room, bathrooms, nurses’ station and shady patio.
The Frail Care centre offers 24-hour medical service,with a team of dedicated and caring well qualified nursing sisters, staff nurses and home care workers. The duty room is always a hub of activity with cottage residents coming in to have dressings changed, massages or blood sugar levels tested.
The staff members are able to assist the residents with personal hygiene, eating and dressing.
The cottage residents may move into frail car for a short period of time to recover from an illness or after a fall, and receive a bit of TLC if necessary.
Every cottage resident has a panic button which is linked to the duty room in frail care, so if anything outward should happen, the sisters are alerted immediately.
Catering
Our dedicated and friendly catering and cleaning staff are always busy keeping residents well fed and in immaculate surroundings.
The nutritious meals are prepared with the needs of the elderly in mind and the kitchen staff cater for all dietary requirements.
Assisted Living residents take all meals in the cosy dining room.

Pride in our premises
Our 18 000m2 of grounds and buildings are kept in great condition by our stellar maintenance and grounds team. We have our own workshops to take care of most maintenance and repair issues in-house. Laundry and cleaning staff keep the premises spotless.
Security
The grounds are fully enclosed by palisade fencing, we employ a full-time gate guard and rapid response by local security company Sky Alarms.
Water Storage Project
Due to Port Alfred’s recent drought and critical water shortages The Lodge’s underground cistern that collects rainfall from the roofs since construction has been supplemented by an integrated water storage and pump system. This ensures uninterrupted supply to residents for convenience and hygiene.
This is just one of our proactive projects to ensure we maintain the best of care and comfort for all our residents.
We have also installed solar water geysers to ensure our residents always have hot water despite power outages.
